之前在书店走逛时，看到一本书名叫「99% 的人，输在不会表达」，当下因为赶时间的关系并未驻足翻阅，心里却觉得那句话说的真对。比较会运用语言，比较会精准传达感情与想法的人，做事待人似乎真的都比较游刃有余。说中文时，在对的地方用上对的成语，往往能精准传达感受，而许多的成语在英文中也有对应，语言程度好的你不妨都学起来：

 

暗送秋波

Make eyes at

女生偷偷用眼神发电，默默用眼睛勾引。

Is that girl making eyes at me, or am I just imagining it?

借酒浇愁

Drown one’s sorrows

用酒精来忘却烦忧，英文“Drown one’s sorrows” 字面上是「淹没某人的哀伤」，是否十分贴切？唯一要注意的是，成语「借酒浇愁」通常只能是用「酒」，但英文Drown one’s sorrows却能延伸到其他东西上，请见例句：

以前掏金热时，金子猎人会拿着一个平底锅（Pan）似的器具，到河里去捞沙，然后看看锅里是否有闪出金子的金光，以此判定金矿的所在。现在，”Flash in the pan” 就用来指那些昙花一现的成功和好运。

人多嘴杂

Too many cooks spoil the broth

人多嘴杂」，指现场众人意见繁多，说法多样，很难理出一个清晰的道理方法。相近的英文用语是“Too many cooks spoil the broth”，厨子太多就坏了汤，意思是一件事情如果有太多人插手插嘴，最后出来的成品就会很糟糕。

“We’ve got my boss, his boss, the assistant manager, the consultant, and the head of IT all involved in this project, and it’s turning into a complete disaster!”

Birds of a feather flock together

这句英文字面意思是「同种羽毛的鸟会聚在一起」，代表气味相投的人往往会彼此吸引，也就是中文「物以类聚」的含意。

我一直觉得Amy 很做作，然后她现在又跟那个势利的男生Louis 约会，还真是物以类聚。
